Parent-Teacher conference appointment software
At today’s Ramaz Liaision Committee meeting, the first topic up was whether the school should provide a web-based facility for parents to create 5-minute appointments with the teachers they wish to see. The hope would be to improve the process by reducing the time spent standing in line waiting to see teachers. We have used such a system at SAR, and despite my initial misgivings that it would never work, it turned out to be a good system and made the experience a much smoother one.
This is not the first time Ramaz has considered such a system, but the conclusion reached by the administration was the same - that such a system risks making the proces worse, rather than better.
However, it seems to me that everyone I have ever spoken to that has used both systems is happier with the appointment-setting way. So, I would like to pose the question - if you have, as a parent, experienced both ways of doing things - which did you prefer? (Please leave your response in the comments section of this post.)
Which parent teacher conference scheduling software did your school use? I would desperately like to suggest it to our school.
