The Meshulach
A Meshulach arrives at the doorstep of a wealthy baalebos in LA asking to be allowed in. The G’vir asks him what he is collecting for. The meshulach replies: “For a Kollel in Jerusalem”. The baalebos tells him that he is not interested in this cause.”
Let them go to work”, he says. The experienced ’sabra’ Meshulech, however, wasn’t having any of this. He simply didn’t let go and after half an hour of begging, bargaining, bullying and blessing, he finally had a check for $10,000.00 in his hand. As they were saying their good-byes at the door, our g’vir turns to the meshulach and says to him: “Now that you have the check in your hand, please tell me the truth, how much of this money goes to the Kollel - and how much do you take for yourself?” The meshulach looks up at him and says: “For the Kollel??  Are you Meshuggeh?? Let them go to work…”
